To edit language settings, navigate to your user icon in the top right, and then to language.
- All customers have a default language of English.
- Any translated content is made available to users using Position Green in other languages.
- Custom content can be added in any language. Note that this custom content will not be translated into all other languages unless requested.
- To change the text of a list item, add a new list item with a different PrettyId.
Customization of translations
Translations are added in the measure builder by clicking on the translation icon (see screenshot below). Whenever no text is displayed in all columns, a translation must be manually added.Remember to save when done.
Background Color Meanings:
Grey - the translation is from Position Green's database (global translation).
Yellow - A custom translation (local override) is used, and it differs from the global translation.
Blue - a custom translation (local override) is used, but it is identical to the global translation. (Warning: If the global translation is changed or updated, the color will switch to yellow, and the local override will no longer match the global translation).
Best practices:
- Use the “Remove unnecessary overrides” button to keep the measure up-to-date with the latest translations.
- Use the “Remove all overrides” button to keep up-to-date translations for that Measure.
- If local overrides are used, they should be applied in each language, as end users may access any of them.
- Measures on the admin page are displayed in the language setup for the organization
If any text is not yet translated in Crowdin, the English text will be displayed, but no action is required. Once it is translated and synced to PG, the text will be displayed in the organization (or user) language.
Global translations are applied to measures regardless of the version in which they were created. The simple workflow operates as follows:
Measure names:
When download Measure from template the names are displayed in organization language - if translation exists
If a translation doesn’t exist, the measure will be created with an English name. The only way to update it to the organization’s language is to do so manually or through automatic updates.
Measure name workflow in Data Reporting:
Considerations when working with a customer who needs to report in a language unavailable in the platform.
Free text - Can be reported manually in the relevant language
Dropdown lists - See point 2 in “Working in the setup” for the possible workaround
Y/N questions - Determined by platform language and is not possible to translate
