Almost all controls in the Measure Builder share a common set of properties, such as Name and Description. Number, Sum and Calculation are number-based and also share the Unit property.

Name - The name shown to the reporter. Make sure the name can stand alone, that is, it is unique and identifiable when viewed in the survey. The name is shown when data is exported to Excel.
When choosing a name, make sure it includes enough relevant information to make it understandable and uniquely identifiable when presented outside the canvas. This is the information that will be shown in the Excel exports together with the data.
In short: While inputs may be shown together visually, they may not always be presented together. The datapoint should be able to stand alone and be presented on its own outside the canvas. Description - The description is shown under the information icon when the user reports data.

The measure is required
The “This measure is required” checkbox means that the user must enter data in the field. If the measure point is optional, an indicator is shown above the input.
The “This measure is required” checkbox ticked
Hide from reporting view
This option hides the measure point from the reporter. This is useful when part of a measure is not relevant to report on, or when a calculation runs in the background. Untick “This measure is required” before turning on “Hide from reporting view”. Hidden measure points are still visible in raw data exports and in any connected visualization.

Notes
Add notes connected to the measure point. Notes are not included in the Setup export.
For example, describe a calculation or a measure point whose behavior has changed over the reporting years.

Properties for Number, Sum, and Calculations
Unit - Select from the list of predefined units or add a new, custom unit.
Threshold - Add or override the threshold for a single measure point. To apply the same threshold to all numeric fields in the measure, read more about thresholds.

Thresholds cannot be applied within a repeatable section of a measure.
