Looking for a guided walkthrough of Analytics? Check out the course on this in Position Green Academy.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

'Analytics' is the entry page for viewing reported data or data from assessments in an aggregated form. This is where you can get a clear view of your data and track how it changes from year to year, between different organizational units, suppliers, or with any other chosen parameter.

You can use the visualizations to gain quick insights from your sustainability data or to distribute easy-to-understand graphs internally within the organization. You might also wish to include the visualizations in various reports.

Tailored dashboards

Position Green is made to support any amount of dashboard pages. Those will be shown on the left side of the page, above Custom. In the example below, Dashboards have been created for CO2e emissions, Waste, Energy, and Employees.

Types of visualizations

There are many possibilities when it comes to creating your customized Dashboards. Choose between different types of charts (pie, bar, map, etc.), compare between years or organizational units, suppliers, follow-up towards a target, or filter on time period or units. Please find some examples below:

  • Follow-up on a specific target (relevant for eg. Science Based Targets)
    • An example can be seen in the Accidents (LTAR) visualization further down this page.
  • Make filters at the top of the dashboard to look at data for specific months separately. This may be relevant if using the Dashboard to export a monthly report.
  • Make average and trendlines

  • Make filters at the top of the dashboard to look at data for specific organizational units or suppliers separately. This may be relevant if using the Dashboard to export a site-specific report.

  • Make a pie chart

The data behind the visualization

When you view the data in the table view, it is possible to view the entire calculation visually by clicking on the numbers in the table. You will see all steps made and all operations made in those steps. (see image below).

In the top right of each dashboard, it is possible to toggle between visualization and a table view. (see green box in the image below).

In the table view, you can see the numbers making up the visualization.

The Table view. Clicking any of the colored numbers lets us view the entire underlying calculation

Clicking any step will show you in detail which data was included in the step.

Drill down of a simple calculation

If the visualization represents a KPI or in other ways includes different types of data (production units, employees etc.), the graph will show all parts of the calculation as a tree structure.

Organize your dashboards

To keep your dashboards organized set-up users can easily arrange the dashboards into sections to keep the dashboard menu more organized. Read more on how to organize the dashboards.

Exporting the KPIs/visualizations

You can always export the visualizations and KPIs to Excel, PDF, or Microsoft Word by clicking on the export button shown in the image below. This alternative is relevant if you would like to look at the specific KPIs. If you would like to export the raw data on the other hand, you should use the Export page for Sustainability Reporting and Export of Questionnaire for Sustainable Investment and Supplier Assessment.

Custom page

The Custom page allows you to visualize simple input data fields in a customized way

By default, there is a Custom page that allows you to filter on one or several years, periods in the selected year (such as different months), measures, and organizational units. For the organizational units, you can choose if you want to include their subunits or not.

You can also choose if you would like to look at the data as a sum, an average, or the minimum or maximum value. Every time you change the filter, the page is updated with visualization. You can always choose to look at the data in a table format and look at the data behind the visualization as well as exporting the data to Excel or PDF.

Information barriers

It is possible to restrict the access of certain dashboards through user access groups defined in the set-up of users in the platform. Please contact your Sustainability Platform Team to get some help setting this up.
