Validation of input data

Modified on Mon, 17 Mar at 5:03 PM

The following measures support the validation of data input:

  • Number (default validation is > 0)
  • Sum
  • Calculation

How to add a validation rule

To add a validation rule to a measure, follow these steps:

Step 1: Click on the measure and click "Show" on the advanced part.

Step 2: At the bottom, click "Add validation rule".

Step 3: Choose the operator - you will be able to choose from: <, <=, =, =>, >.

Step 4: Choose the value to evaluate the measure against.

Example: Setting limits relative to a number

  • One validation rule makes sure the value that is entered is not a negative value.
  • One validation rule makes sure the value doesn't exceed the value 100.

It is natural to request a percent value from the Reporters. To ensure that the value entered is between 0 and 100, add two validation rules.

Example: Setting a top limit relative to other data inputs

Choose "Other measure" when adding the validation rule, and pick one measure in the dropdown list.

e.g. control X, that you are adding the validation rule to, must be greater than or equal to control Y.
