Data can be imported from a file into Position Green.
Data can be imported from the following kinds of files:
- Excel .xlsx
- CSV .csv
- Google Sheets - The requirement is that the file has the setting "Shared with everyone"
Semi-automatic process: The data is supplied by the user manually, and Position Green inserts the data. Once data is uploaded to the files page, the data must be looked over in
Once you have uploaded the files into the Inbox you can start the import process. The import is a multi-step process in which you can look through the data and ensure it is correct, before finalizing the import into the registrations.
Before Position Green can understand your files, minor setup tasks have to be carried out.
Contact your Position Green team to explore the possibilities of file import in adding data directly into measures.
Things to think of when starting the process of importing data from your files:
- The file you want to import data from must always have the same format when uploading it, otherwise Position Green will have trouble understanding the data you want to import.
- There must be an active measure point to store the data in Position Green.
- If new information is added to the file that should be stored in a certain measure or unit, e.g. a new organizational unit in an electricity consumption report. Please contact your Sustainability Platform Manager to make sure the new data finds its way to the right place in Position Green.
Additional settings for file imports:
Some settings can be altered when creating an import, such as:
- Access level: You need the right role (controller) to reach the import page, but you can also alter the access to specific imports (if several).
- Auto-confirmation: When importing data, data may be entered in a large number of registrations. To facilitate your work, registrations connected to an import can be auto-confirmed. However, we recommend that you go through the registrations and confirm them manually, to ensure the quality of the data.
- Data validation: It is possible to set up basic validations of the data to ensure that essential data in the file is not missing. This will generate a warning or an error when importing a file, helping you not to import invalid data.
