AI-generated suggestions

Jump-start your plan.

AI-generated suggestions provide starter ideas for your Decarbonization Strategy. Use them to explore options, then review and tailor before adopting.

What you’ll get

  • Starter action ideas tuned to your data and main drivers
  • An estimate of impact and when/where it could apply
  • A short rationale you can verify and edit in Assumptions

How suggestions are generated

The AI uses the same inputs as your scenario, so results stay consistent. It reviews your scenario settings (i.e. targets, timeframe, growth) and the distribution of reported emissions at the scope and category level across your entire organizational footprint.

It then identifies the most relevant hotspots in your footprint and generates 10 tailored actions designed to help you progress toward your target. Where applicable, the AI automatically selects the organizational units driving the hotspot in the generated action, so you can focus your efforts.

The system always returns 10 actions, but these are not distributed evenly across scopes, categories, or organizational units. Instead, the AI focuses on the areas with the greatest potential impact based on your data.

This means:

  • You may see multiple suggestions focused on a single hotspot if that is where meaningful reduction potential lies.

  • You may not see suggestions for every scope or category. This is expected and reflects the prioritization logic.

The list is designed to be a focused, high-impact starting point rather than an exhaustive catalogue. This approach helps you to act quickly, avoid overwhelm, and focus on their most material reduction opportunities.

Want different or additional ideas? Use “Regenerate suggestions.”

You can generate a new set of 10 suggestions at any time. This is useful if:

  • You’ve already acted on some of the original suggestions

  • You want to explore alternative options or perspectives

  • You've changed scenario settings (e.g. scopes included) and want to refresh your suggestions

Each regeneration provides a fresh set of 10 ideas based on the same underlying data.

How to use suggestions

When suggestions are generated, they appear in the "Suggestions" tab under Actions.

  1. Review each suggestion: Click "Review" to open the action details.

  2. Check the assumptions: Read the "Assumptions" field for context, verify any sources, and make sure the logic fits your organization’s situation.

  3. Adjust as needed: You can edit any field—such as reduction potential, timing, or coverage—to reflect your data and priorities. See the Actions page for definitions of each field.

  4. Adopt when ready: Click "Adopt" to add the action to your Decarbonization Strategy.

Adopted actions move to the Adopted tab and can be edited later like any other action.

How we ensure quality

AI-suggested actions are built by a cross-functional Position Green team of carbon management experts and AI engineers.

  • Expert-owned prompt: Our carbon experts design, maintain, and iterate the prompt that drives suggestions.
  • Human-in-the-loop: We continuously test across different datasets and refine to keep outputs credible and useful.
  • Transparent by design: We ask the AI to explain its assumptions and include source references (please verify before relying on them).

Your role: Use these as well-informed starting points. Review the impact, adjust timing, and add costs where needed so the action fits your reality.

Access

AI-suggested actions are available if your organization has signed Position Green’s AI addendum. Don’t see the option? Contact your Customer Success Manager to enable it.
