Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Integration Guide
Set up the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) integration by granting access to the Position Green app registration.
Prerequisites
Make sure the following are available before starting:
- Active Dynamics 365 Business Central SaaS environment, such as Production or Sandbox
- Azure AD Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator access
- Microsoft 365 license with Business Central
- Position Green app registration Client ID provided by Position Green
Grant admin consent to the Position Green app
Position Green app Client ID: d31e6eca-cb85-4f80-816b-f3a5394b7e12
- Open the admin consent link in a browser:
https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/adminconsent?client_id=d31e6eca-cb85-4f80-816b-f3a5394b7e12 - Sign in with an Azure AD admin account.
- Approve the consent prompt.
If the setup is successful, the browser redirects to the Position Green website.
Add the app in Business Central
Access to the company’s Business Central portal is required for this step.
- Open the Business Central portal.
- Select the target environment, such as Production.
- Open Search in the upper-right corner.
- Search for Microsoft Entra Applications.
- Select Microsoft Entra Applications.
- Click "+New".
- Enter the Position Green Client ID in the Client ID field:

- The description field does not affect the integration.
- Change State to "Enabled".
- Confirm the application creation.
Assign permissions in Business Central
Assign permission sets to the application registration from the same window.
- Go to User Permission Sets.
- Click the empty Permission Set field.
- Click "(⋮)".
- Select the required permission set from the list.
Assign the "D365 READ" permission set to enable read access to all API endpoints.
If assigning a custom permission set, include access to at least:
- Companies
- Dimensions
- Vendors
- Purchase Invoices
- General Ledger Setup
- General Ledger Entries
Send integration details to Position Green
After completing the setup, send the following information to Position Green:
- Azure Tenant ID
- Dynamics 365 Business Central environment name
- Dynamics 365 Business Central company name
Enter this information in the corresponding integration fields in Position Green.
If the Azure Tenant ID is not visible or unknown, contact the cloud administrator.
